Journey to 150 Gala [Photos]

On October 5, 2014, over 250 of our family, friends and members of the Scouting community joined us in the celebration gala of a huge milestone in the 180th Pacific Coast Scout Group. Aptly titled “Journey to 150”, the event was dedicated to the celebration of our Rover Crew reaching 150 members.

During our gala, we shared our story and journey that we took in the past 8 years to reach 150 members. It was humbling to see so much support for our Group, and we were pleased to share with them our plans and goals in our future. Present at the gala dinner was Scouter Andrew Price, Executive Commissioner and CEO of Scouts Canada, and Scouter Doug Reid, National Commissioner of Scouts Canada, who made the trip from across Canada to join us in our celebrations. Their words of encouragements and congratulations will surely propel us into reaching our next milestone in membership. To celebrate with Scouter Andrew and Scouter Doug is truly our honour, and we are now even more committed than ever to help grow Scouts Canada under their leadership.

Many thanks to the generous sponsors and donors who donated prizes for our raffle draw, including gift cards to Earls, Cactus Club PriceSmart Foods and Cineplex, wine from International Cellars Inc, photography session with Maggi Woo, AG hair products, LUSH products, spa packages, tickets to BC Lions football games, and even an iPad Mini with a Gripster case! Our friends and family members who participated in our raffle draw helped us raise over $2600 that will go towards our upcoming International Service Project to Malaysia and Singapore in May 2015.
