To celebrate the work that our contingent has done, the Scout Association in the Province of Nayarit held a gala in our honour. National Chief Scout of Mexico, Scouter Ana Lorena Gudiño Valdez, the President of Mexico Scout Association, Scouter Victor R. Blake Gomez, and the President of the Province of Nayarit for the Mexico Scout Association, Scouter Moises (Moy) Ruvalcaba Ceja all expressed their gratitude for our work done for the Scouts of Nayarit. Moreover, they reminded us that the most important things we can bring back to Canada are the friendships and memories we made. On behalf of our contingent, Scouter John presented the three individuals with framed neckerchiefs to thank them for their support in what we do. The party was capped off with demonstrations of cultural dances, delicious food, and great company from our fellow Mexican Rover Scouts.
Our contingent was speechless by the end of the night as the Mexican Scouts Association expressed their gratitude at what we have done with a wonderful video presentation of our shared moments. We are all extremely grateful at the opportunity to be able to help the local Scouts of Puerto Vallarta because that is what the Scouting is all about – service to others. As the night closed, we lit lanterns by the beach as a way of celebrating our memories and friendships we have made the past week.
