One of the 180th Pacific Coast Scout Group’s goals this year is to provide more services to local community organizations in the
Lower Mainland. In the spirit of this initiative, eight members of our Rover Scout Group volunteered on November 19th at the Salvation Army Harbour Light “Feeding Ministry”, essentially a “Food Line” that provides healthy and wholesome meals to Downtown Eastside residents in need.
Within an hour (which seemed to pass by extremely fast), the Rovers helped serve approximately 340 meals, assisting both in the distribution of food as well as cleaning up and clearing tables. We all had a very fun and meaningful time, and are keen to bring more Rovers and friends back in the future!
