With two International Service Projects under our belts and plenty of experience, the 180th Pacific Coast Scout Group proudly announces its plans for our next journey. A contingent of roughly 30 Rovers and mentors will travel to Xi’an, China in May of 2012. While our project plan is still being finalized, we are very much looking forward to sharing our Scouting spirit to those half way around the world, again.
Xi’an holds an incredible amount of Chinese history. It served as the capital city of multiple dynasties over the past 3,000 years. Located in north-western China in the Shaanxi province, it is the home to some of the most recognizable relics, which include the famous Terracotta Warriors. With this amount of culture and heritage, it is undoubtedly one of the major tourist attractions in Asia.
With roughly 10 months left until our departure, there is still much to be done. Please stay tuned as we will continue to report on our project status! Until next time…
