Victor Chan

Rover President

Victor joined the Scout Movement as a Beaver Scout in 1996 with the 32nd Richmond Scout Group where he later rejoined as a Venturer Scout. Today, Victor is an active Cub Leader for the 32nd Richmond Scout Group, and a Rover Scout with the 180th Pacific Coast Scout Group. As a Rover, Victor has dedicated his past year to evolving and improving the Group’s monthly conferences. His hard work is recognized as having created a new environment for Crew members to share ideas and gain new experiences.

Victor is a graduate from UBC’s Agroecology program, where he finished his Bachelors of Science degree with Honours, specializing in Animal Studies. Victor’s love for animals has led him to work at a dairy farm and aquatic animal research facility, and is now studying at UBC in the department of Zoology as a Master candidate, raising salmon for aquaculture research.

You will find Victor delving into new knowledge of science and electronics on his spare time. Otherwise, you’ll find him behind a camera improving his camera photography skills.

Victor is a recipient of the Medal of Maple for Distinguished Youth Service to Scouting, the Certificate of Commendation, and has received his 5 Year Service Pin.
