• LOCAL COMMUNITY SERVICE

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

Through planning community service projects, our Rover scouts develop a foundation of knowledge in terms of project management and best practices; all while aiding those in need. These service projects span far beyond Metro Vancouver, in the form of our International Service Projects to help communities across the world. • Past Community Events

    East Side Eats

East Side Eats (ESE) is one of our annual community service projects where we take time to carefully make, pack and distribute sandwiches to the members of the Downtown Eastside community.

    OtherHalf Stem Cell Project

This project was in collaboration with Otherhalf, a group dedicated to closing the gap of under represented Chinese in the global stem cell donor registry by educating the local communities. Over the Labour Day weekend, a group of Rovers had the opportunity to volunteer with Otherhalf to make a difference in bringing awareness to the Chinese stem cell research.

  • Kinsmen Breakfast Service

In this annual community service event, Rovers volunteer with the Kinsmen Club to support those with physical disabilities. With our similar values and dedication to service, our Rovers are happy to serve these fellow volunteers a delicious meal.

    Shoreline Cleanup

Shoreline Cleanup is an important service project that we value because of the significance we place in taking care of our environment. This project allowed us to apply the Scouting principle of “Leave No Trace” which enforces the idea of leaving a place better than how we first found it.
