Letter from the National Chief Scout of Mexico, Lorena Valdez

During our celebration gala dinner in Puerto Vallarta, members of our contingent were very surprised to receive a letter from the National Chief Scout of Mexico, Scouter Lorena Valdez, herself.  It is so humbling to be praised by Scouter Lorena for the work that we are  in Mexico, and we are so happy to know of the positive impact that we made towards their Scouting Movement. Having been in the service of other people has made us all realize that creating a better world is what our contingent lives and breathes.

As Scouter Lorena alludes to in her letter, we are blessed to be Rover Scouts who are given the opportunity to reflect on all that we’ve done as we row our own canoes towards being happy and useful citizens. This opportunity is really a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience that we are so honoured to have been able to share with members of the Scouts Association of Mexico.

One reply on “Letter from the National Chief Scout of Mexico, Lorena Valdez”

It is so heartwarming to see the letter from Scouter Lorena Valdez, the National Chief Scout of Mexico, and find out how impressed they have been with the efforts of our rover crew in Mexico.
Likewise, for those of us in Canada, we’ve heard a lot about the great hospitality and welcoming attitude of Mexican rovers.
So many thanks to our Mexican friends for welcoming our crew to their lovely country and for allowing us to be part of an amazing community service project.
We can’t find to welcome you in Canada soon.
Cheers
