International Project – China 2012

On May 09th, 2012, the 180th Pacific Coast Scout Group sent a contingent of 30 Rovers and advisors to China for two weeks.  This International Service Project, or better known as iProj, has been in the works since the beginning of 2011. Since then, our Rovers have invested over 20,000 hours into this project to ensure that their presentations and programs gave their audiences a remarkable experience.  The contingent went to Beijing, Xi’an, Shilong, and then finally Hong Kong.  Amongst many things, there were many opportunities for our Crew members to meet other organizations’ youth leaders, as well as visit historical sites, climb the sacred Mount Hua, and visit the Baden-Powell International House in Hong Kong.

Prior to our departure, we have been giving interviews to various news agencies.  You can access these interviews here.

Check our blog as our Rovers have written about their experiences going through China as they make an impact, learn, bridge cultures, and build relationships!
