On a chilly December night, our Advisor, John Chow, Karina Lee, Paul Leung and myself were invited to celebrate his Majesty, King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand’s birthday in Downtown, Vancouver. What an evening full of warmth, hospitality and celebration!

We had an opportunity to try many delicious Thai delicacies, watch beautiful traditional dances and meet the Thai Consul-General. We were grateful for the opportunity and it was a privilege to be able to meet with so many international and local dignitaries. Many people were pleased to meet with local Vancouver Scout leaders and excited to hear about our program! We may even have one or two new scouts join as a result.

Here we are posing with Ping and his mom. Ping is a Beaver Scout with our 23rd Elsie Roy Scout group in Yaletown and his mother, Jang is the Deputy Consul-General. She was gracious enough to have invited us to the celebration. Looking forward to the next celebration… if we are so lucky!
