The Bucket Ranger: A Movement for Creating Impact

By: Karina Lee and Victor Chan

This design has become a symbol of our Scout Group as we do our best to provide service to the Scouting community and the communities that we live in, and as we amass scouting influence to our friends and families.  As a nationwide phenomenon, the Bucket Ranger design is not only a symbol of commonality that brings the Scouting community together, but it also creates conversations between people.

Locally, we want to thank all the Scout Groups who have purchased the shirts to be worn as activity wear during their scout group meetings and camps! Nationally, we are grateful that our National Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Doug Reid, is also a fan of our shirts! He bought three shirts just last week!

Several years ago, this design (designed by one of our current advisors) was just a memorabilia for a competition camp for scout troops. Back then, the shirt had “Competition Camp” written on the front of the shirt, beneath the Bucket Ranger. Two years later, some great minds decided to bring the design back and sell it as a 180th Pacific Coast Scout Group T-shirt, without the words! This shirt sold out within a few weeks. Several Scout Groups from the Lower Mainland, including the 116th East Vancouver Scout Group, 33rd Richmond Buddhist Light Scout Group,  28th Richmond Scout Group, 32nd Richmond Scout Group, 4th Northview Scout Group in Burnaby, and the 99th East Vancouver Scout Group bought these shirts in big bulks. The Fukui Girl Scouts from Japan who came over to attend our 5.1 Camp in August of 2011 all decided to buy one too!

This will be the 4th anniversary of the Bucket Ranger, and to celebrate another successful year of Scouting within the community, we decided to bring it back one last time. This time, we are selling it in 6 different shirt colours: Fuchsia, Kelly Green, Navy, Purple, Red, and Teal! They will still be printed on American Apparel – Fine Jersey Short Sleeve shirts. A difference between this year and the previous years is that now the shirts are available in youths sizes. So Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts-aged youths can have a chance at sporting these super cool shirts as well!

The deadline to order is this Sunday, May 26th. So if you are interested in getting one, you better act fast because you only have a few days left!

I missed the sale. I am wondering, is there any chance of still purchasing a 2XL in kelly green, teal or red?

Thanks
