Saving Many Lives at a Time

Every 60 seconds, someone in Canada needs blood. As one unit of blood has the potential to improve or save the lives of up to three people, a small gesture, has the potential to impact many lives.

On February 24, 2012, the Rover Scout Group signed up with Canadian Blood Services to donate blood as a team. With the support of the crew, many of us who feared needles were able to overcome this challenge. From friendly nurses to supportive Rovers, giving blood was easier than it seemed.

Here in the picture, you can see (above) Nick sitting by K.K.’s side for moral support, and (below) Darren talking to Jennifer, as they donate for their first time. Also, since it is a Scout’s nature to volunteer and help our community, it wasn’t a surprise that we coincidentally met Nathan, a Venturer Scout, who volunteers at the blood donation clinic on a regular basis!

What are your Crews doing to give back to your communities?
