Summer Camping with Scouts!

Just this past weekend, the 180th Pacific Coast Scout Group hosted a joint camp at Camp Byng involving Scouts from several groups within our local Scouting council, Fukui Girl Guides from Japan, and also a group of 30+ new-to-Scouting participants. It was no easy task coordinating between all the different groups of people with various Scouting and non-Scouting backgrounds. The campers were treated to wonderful meals prepared by our great kitchen staff, and activities including archery, obstacle course and raft building. There were also opportunities for our campers to practice their outdoor skills with sessions involving fire-lighting, axe and knife safety, and shelter creation.

The 180th Pacific Coast Scout Group would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the camp participants for sharing your weekend with us! Without your wonderful attitude and genuine curiosity for all things Scouting, this camp would not have been as successful. We sincerely hope that you had just as much fun participating as we did planning and executing all the different activities.
